INTRODUCTION
Eric Estornel, known by his stage name, Maceo Plex, is a Cuban-American DJ and producer who has won the hearts of many around the globe. Maceo’s diverse production style is primarily influenced by not only house and techno, but also by the elements of tech-house and electro. His production style is one of the main reasons he is popular today. The DJ has a long history of performing at many of Ibiza’s nightclubs, including Amnesia and Space (now Hï Ibiza). Mosaic by Maceo is the artist’s very own club night that took place throughout summers in Pacha, which he has hosted since 2016.
He established himself as a legend in the techno world, essentially for his work as Maetrik in the early 2000s and has released more tracks under the name Maceo Plex handle, beginning in 2009.
His project evolved from a sexy, deep house with the profound influence of Detroit and Chicago to a considerably more dramatic techno sound. Maceo Plex has released jaw-dropping singles and popular full-lengths on well-known labels like Kompakt, Crosstown Rebels, and Minus. His unparalleled talent to bring musical ideas to life emerged when he began DJing in 1993 and started creating music and releasing electro and techno tracks on a short-lived label named Illmatic records.
INVOLVEMENT IN IBIZA
Maceo Plex is also a regular part of the Circoloco line-up, along with famous names like Amelie Lens, Rampa, The Martinez Brothers, Damian Lazarus, Matthias Tanzmann, Richy Ahmed, Kerri Chandler, Kölsch and Mano Le Tough.
